My Projects
Let's Love Art!- The Arts & Culture Alliance
During the Fall 2023 Semester, myself and a team of classmates worked alongside Hailstone Economic, and a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization known as The Arts and Culture Alliance on a semester long project for Leadership and Teambuilding (COMM 421). It was during this class that I found my true calling to work with nonprofit organizations, specifically in the realm of communications and marketing.

After this class concluded, I joined Hailstone Economic part-time during the Spring 2024 semester as their Marketing and Communications Support Intern. Throughout the semester I took head on projects specifically pertaining to website and social media design. However, my largest project for the semester was a professional development workshop that I got to design and facilitate on my own to a classroom of 25+ people from local businesses, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations. The workshop is called "Social Media, Simplified!", and helps make the daunting task of managing social media more manageable for organizations that may not have the time or money to hire a social media coordinator. I believe it to be some of my best work, and my favorite project I've worked on to date.
I continued with Hailstone Economic after this well into the Summer full-time, through the support of Commonwealth University's Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities Grant (URSCA Grant). It was then that I learned about event planning, and assisted in The Arts & Culture Alliance's Launch Event: Let's Love Art! I canvassed local businesses, advertised via print AND social media, and we managed to bring in around 70 people from our local community.

The Internship Continues... The Columbia County Placemaking Initiative
The Arts & Culture Alliance was made possible through the Rural Placemaking Innovation Challenge (RPIC), which is run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture- Rural Development.

All while I was working to complete projects for The Arts & Culture Alliance, that was only a piece of my experience. The placemaking initiative focused on major improvements in housing, parks & recreation, broadband expansion, and much more for Columbia and Montour counties.
Hailstone Economic also brought workshops to the county to educate and collaborate with community members. I often facilitated workshops alongside my mentors, assisted with preparation of reports, and managed the Placemaking initiative social media accounts. While their website is no longer active, the final report sent to and published by the USDA is here.
